Today you could write down or even just think about all the times you have done positive things to work towards a healthy body. There may have been a time in your life where you were committed to exercise, to not eat a certain food, where you said no when you were full, when you got on the scales and smiled, when you put on an outfit that you had not been able to get into and it looked good.
Write yourself a little brag book with all the good things you have done – especially those to do with your healthy weight. If you can’t think of too many then think about another area of your life where you could give yourself a few back pats and celebrate yourself.
Keep these notes handy and when your day seems cloudy and you think you can’t do it – open your book and remind yourself that – YOU CAN!
So why do some days seem so easy and other days you feel like you don’t care or you are climbing a mountain. The great thing about climbing a mountain is little by little – you will get there one day.
So what to do on those days when you feel lost – how do you get clear again?? The key is to be aware that those days will happen and plan what you will do and how will you respond to those feelings. Writing down your goals, your reasons or motivations for achieving them and what life that will give you is a good way to keep a handy reminder. If you write it down it serves as a commitment to yourself. It also serves to give you focus - something to read, something solid to remind you of a time when you felt focussed and that what you are doing is important to your authentic self. Use this to remind you of the power you have in working to achieve your goal and the feelings that will wash over you when you achieve it. For some, spending the time on doing this may seem frivolous or you may think it won’t do anything. Trust me and try it – but don’t forget to believe in yourself on the way.
You are powerful and you are worth it.
